Exodus 28:4 NRSV

"These are the vestments (beḡeḏ, H899. stolē, G4749)* that they shall make:

  1. breastpiece (ḥōšen, H2833. peristēthion G4058.1)
  2. ephod (ēp̄ôḏ, H646. epōmida, shoulder-piece, G2036.1)
  3. robe (mᵊʿîl, H4598. podērēs, G4158)
  4. fringed tunic (kutōneṯ, H4801. chitōn, G5509) generic term for an inner/under garment; the skins made for Adam and Eve in Eden, Joseph's coat of many colors, Jesus' last clothes before crucifixion in John's gospel
  5. turban (miṣnep̄eṯ, H4701. kidarin, G2787.1), affixed with a qōḏeš nēzer (H5145, Ex. 29:6)
  6. sash (aḇnēṭ, H73. zōnē, G2223) belt, girdle

...When they make these, stolē hagios / qōḏeš beḡeḏ for your brother Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests, 5 they shall use gold, blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and fine linen.

Ex. 28:4 LXX:

καὶ αὗται αἱ στολαὶ ἃς ποιήσουσιν· τὸ 1 περιστήθιον καὶ τὴν 2 ἐπωμίδα καὶ τὸν 3 ποδήρη 4 χιτῶνα κοσυμβωτὸν καὶ 5 κίδαριν καὶ 6 ζώνην.

"like a coat of mail so that it will not tear" Ex. 28:32, 39:23

Hebrew (taḥrā, H8473) is uncertain, and it only occurs in these two verses: תַּחְרָא

John 19:23

χιτὼν (chitōn) ἄραφος (seamless, araphos, G729) ἐκ τῶν ἄνωθεν (top to bottom, anōthen, G509) ὑφαντὸς (woven, hyphantos, G5307) δι᾽ ὅλου (holos, G3650)

the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom
