1 Noticing he had an audience, he went up on a hill. When he had sat down, his students came to him. 2 He opened his mouth and began to teach them, saying,

3 “Blessed are those whose spirit is exposed,

for theirs is the Republic of Heaven.

4 Blessed are those who mourn,

for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the humbled,

for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they shall be satisfied.

7 Blessed are the merciful,

for they shall granted mercy.

8 Blessed are those whose souls are clear,

for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peace-workers,

for they shall be called children of God.

10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake,

for theirs is the Republic of Heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and make up all kinds of shit about you, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be glad AF, for your reward in heaven will be all the greater. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

13 “You are the salt of the world; if the salt has lost its flavor, what purpose does it serve? It would be good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.

14 “Be a light for the world. A city located on a hill isn’t made to be hidden. 15 In the same way, a lamp and isnt made to be put under a basket, but on a stand; and it shines for all in the house who are in need. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
