1 Sam 17:38-39, 49 seem to be the pseudo-historic inspiration behind Armor of God. Helmet is the constant, traces its roots to helmet given to David by Saul, everything else is built on top.

Isaiah

11:4 but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt (zōnnymi, G2223, ēzôr, H232) around his waist, and faithfulness the belt (eilēmenos, G1504.1, ēzôr) **around his loins."

59:17 He put on righteousness like a 👔 (*širyôn, thorax*), and a 🪖 (kôḇaʿ, perikephalaia) of salvation (yᵊšûʿâ, sōtērios) on his head; he put on 🧥 (beḡeḏ, himation) of vengeance (nāqām, ekdikēsis) for clothing, and wrapped himself in [in it] as in a 🧣. (mᵊʿîl, peribolaion)

Isaiah 61 (ASV) verse 10

61:10 I will greatly agalliasis (G20) in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Job

29:14 I put on righteousness (dikaiosynē, G1343. ṣeḏeq, H6664), and it clothed me; my justice (krima, G2917. mišpāṭ H4941) was like a robe (mᵊʿîl) and a turban (ṣānîp̄) (H6797, sometimes diadem in greek)

**Wisdom of Solomon**

5:17The Lord will take his zeal as his panoplia (G3833) and will arm all creation to repel his enemies; 18 he will put on righteousness as 👔 thorax, and wear impartial justice as a 🪖 korutha; 19he will take holiness as an invincible 🛡️ aspida, 20 and sharpen stern orge for a 🗡️ rhomphaia (G4501) and crestation will join with him to fight against his frenzied foes.

1 Thessalonians

5:8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, and put on the thorax of faith and love, and for a perikephalia the hope of salvation.
